The Sabala, dedicated to the upliftment of poor women and children, is a non-profitable society in the district of
Bijapur in
Karnataka. Since its inception in 1986, it has been engaging in rehabilitation activities for widows, destitute, tribal and economically backward women. The organization aims to strengthen and develop leadership quality among women folk and to educate and train women and children to minimize migration and child labour.
Vocational trainings are given to get self employment opportunities and offers production and marketing support for
kasuti,
mirror embroidery, patch-work, block-printing and tie and dye, leather and non-leather utility goods, chicken work and kanta work. Other activities include community health education, AIDS awareness programs and anti-natal and infant health care.
