The Old Palace, located in the heart of
Imphal town, is one of the ancient palaces in
Manipur. Now occupied by the para-military forces for their training, visitors are permitted to enter only for seeing the ruins of an old fortress wall and a palace.
Imphal is well connected by air with all major cities of India. Foreign tourists with valid Restricted Area Permits and Indian tourists having valid Inner Line Permits are only allowed to visit Manipur. It can be obtained from Ministry of Home Affairs, Foreigner's Regional Registration Offices and Immigration offices at New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
