Started in 2000, the Kalatheera is a charitable organization for propagating the performing arts in
Karnataka. Established with an aim to promote India's rich cultural heritage by its brilliant traditions in classical dance and music, it works for creating awareness in the art form of Odissi in south India. About 60 students are learning Odissi in its dance school. The school helps the students to develop their concentration, commitment, confidence and self-awareness along with the dance lessons. Scholarships and research grants are offered.
