The simple structure at the outskirts of Old Goa on top of a hill, that housed the Convent and the Cross of Miracles is now in a dilapidated state. The bareness of this lime plastered walls built of laterite is still evident. The church dates back to 1619 which was rebuilt in 1674. The convent belonged to the oratory of Philip Neri congregation of
Goa. The Church and the convent were abandoned in 1835.
The church was originally built to house the Cross of Miracles. It was transferred to the Se Cathedral in 1845. The faithful believe the cross to be growing perpetually with a holy spring having healing powers at its base.
