Thanthania Kalibari Temple was built in 1703 by Shankar Ghosh. The main deity is a clay image of Goddess Siddheswari, a form of
Goddess Kali.
Kali Puja is the main festival celebrated in this temple. The temple complex also has a small shrine dedicated to
Lord Shiva. Thanthania Kalibari Temple can be approached from Shyambazar via Bidhan Sarani. The house where
Swami Vivekananda was born, on Gourmohan Mukherji Street, is nearby.
