Thiruvananthapuram has two courtyards and the entire structure is characterised by elaborate wood carvings. Thanjaoor Ammaveedu, once the place of music and dance, exists even today as a store house of mysteries and stories.
This is a " Panthrandu Kettu" with three "Anganams".The new double storyed building next to the road was constructed by Maharaja Srimoolam Thirunal for his first son Nagarcoil Srinarayanan Tampi.
