Thangliana Lum is a stone memorial erected in memory of T H Lewin - the first Briton to enter
Mizoram. It is located in Demagiri, about 85 km from
Lunglei.
Lewin was very cordial to the tribesmen in the area and they honored him with the title 'Thangliana', meaning 'famous'. This stone memorial is a symbol of respect paid by the Mizos to Lewin.
