Thandapani is a high altitude place in Jammu and Kashmir located at an altitude of about 2,089 ft above sea level. It is 16 km north-east of the district headquarters of Jammu District, Jammu, and is near to the line of control.
Barphar in the west, Saili in the north, Tara in the east and Bailkhad in the south are the neighboring towns. Dogra Art Museum, Gadhadharji Temple, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and Bahu Fort are some of the nearby picnic spots outside the town.
