Thana is a beautiful place located to the north-western part of
Doda District. Set at an elevation of 8,900 ft above sea level, it is about 116 km from
Srinagar – the capital of
Jammu and Kashmir.
Thana is flanked by Panjan to its west and Bhart to its east. The northern and southern parts are covered by Singpur and Udianpur respectively.
Thana is accessible by private vehicles from Drubil and Ganika. The closest railhead is at Jammu, 95 km south-west.
