Tegada village is located in Nagur taluk of
Khammam District. This village is famous for the
Bhadrakali and Virabhadra temples here. Tegada is an independent sub-taluk in
Andhra Pradesh.
During the 13th and 14th days of the dark fortnight in the month of Magha (January - February), a grand festival is celebrated at Tegada with much merriment. The marriage ceremony of Bhadrakali and Virabhadra is the central point of the celebration. In the morning, the idol of Virabhadra is taken to the
Godavari River, 3 km from Tegada in a procession and
jalabhishek is performed.
Devotees observe fasting and some of them do fire-walking too. Taliperu River is another attraction at Tegada.
