The Teen Darwaza, which consists of 3 gates on the western walls, is an important place to visit at Panhala. This three door gate meant consecutive doors could only be approached at an awkward angle. There is a well in the corner. The well was used to send word to allies. Lemons with incised message were dropped into the water, and would float to a lake outside. The British entered through Teen Darwaza, when they finally captured Panhala in 1844. The Darwaza was engineered by the British to seek entry into the Panhala fort.
