Tapovan




Tapovan is a picturesque village located about 10 km from Babadham in Deoghar District. An ancient Shiva temple called Taponath Mahadev constitutes the main attraction. This hilly area with its numerous caves is believed to have been visited by Sage Valmiki.

This place was used as a meditation center by the Nagas in the ancient period. A cracked rock with a portrait of Lord Hanuman is worth seeing. Shukta Kund, popularly known as Sita Kund, is a sparkling water body that attracts many visitors. An ideal destination for family holidays, Tapovan provides easy accessibility to the famous Baba Baidyanath Temple.
