Tandem Paragliding, a center for paragliding, is located in the picturesque region of
Naukuchiatal, about 25 km from
Nainital. This is a joint project of the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd and Snowland Holidays of
Manali.
Tandem Paragliding provides endless opportunities for the visitors to enjoy the beauty of nature and have a gliding experience like a kite. It is the safest way to enjoy the gliding as the gliders are being flown by pilots who have good flying records. Adventure enthusiasts can utilize the option of solo flight after expert instructions of about 20 minutes from the pilots. Flight suits and helmet facilities are provided. People between the ages of 8 years to 60 years can participate. Visitors are advised to carry warm clothing and gloves with them. Accommodation facilities are available at tourist resorts.
Boating facilities are offered at
Bhimtal (4 km).
Kathgodam Railway Station is the nearby railhead (25km) and the nearest airport is
Pant Nagar Airport.
