Tamna is situated in Purulia District, about 10 km south of Purulia, in West Bengal. Balrampur and Kantadih are situated at distances of 24 km and 9 km respectively. The town is only a few kilometers away from the National Highway 32. Kenda and Arsha are other places nearby.
