Tamia is a
taluk headquarters town in the
Chhindwara District of
Madhya Pradesh. Situated on the
Chhindwara-
Pachmarhi Road, it is around 52 km from Chhindwara. The steep hills, dense forests and big winding ghats make Tamia a beauty spot and a tourist place.
The APWD rest house, situated on a steep hill, offers a panoramic view of the deep forests and the mountainous ranges of Satpura. The government postal bungalow, located at an altitude of 3,765 ft above sea level, is the main attraction. About 2 km from this bungalow there is a cave where the holy 'Shivling' of 'Chota Mahadev' exists. A picturesque waterfall is situated near the cave.
