Tamburi Singers belong to
Karnataka and they get the name from the musical instrument they play, Tamburi. They belong to the
Vaishnavite sect and impart moral values and norms to the villagers through their songs.
Tamburi Singers are seen wearing a white robe and a yellow or saffron headgear. They play the Tamburi with one hand and the cymbals with the other. They also carry a satchel.
