Talgoddi is a dance form peculiar to Goan Hindus. It is popular in
Chandor village of
South Goa District. Talgoddi is a kind of an aimless dance, which expresses a pure rhythmic pattern of human movements, energy and sheer joy of living.
Literally 'Talgoddi' means 'young men in rhythm'. Performed by eight to twelve men, its core theme is articulated in eight distinct modes.
