A popular festival, Taktak and Chimrey Anchuk is celebrated at the gompas of the Nigmpa sect in
Jammu and Kashmir. It falls on the 29th and 30th days of the 9th Bodhi month.
During this festival, the lamas perform tantrik dances wearing masks of the different deities. This dance is the depiction of the struggle between good and evil, and ultimately the victory of good over evil. Mystical rites are also conducted.
