Swang is a kind of song-drama performed throughout
Punjab. It is played either in the open or atop of platform, depending on the story of a great personality. Some of the popular Swangs in Punjab include the swangs of Puran Nath Jogi, Gopi Nath and Veer Hakikat Rai.
In the first two swangs, the life of detachment and in third one, the love of religion and spirit of sacrifice for its sake are highlighted.
