Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University is about 10 km south of

Pune road.
A State University, it was carved out of Marathwada University in 1994 and is named after a renowned educationalist and social activist, Swami Ramanand Teerth. The university caters to the southern part of Marathwada region of Maharashtra, particularly to the districts of Nanded, Latur, Parbhani and Hingoli. It has about 172 colleges affiliated to it.
