Suralaya Glacier

Suralaya Glacier, a picturesque lake, is located six km away from Vasuki Tal in Uttarkashi District. It lies at an elevation of 5,456 m along the Gangotri Glacier-Badrinath trek route. It provides magnificent views of Chandra Parvat and Satopanth Peak. The first people to trek to Suralaya Glacier were Shipton and Tilman in 1923. Nearby interesting destinations to visit are Sweta Glacier, Chaturangi Glacier, Bhojbasa, Ghastoli and Gangotri. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport. The nearest railway station is at Rishikesh.
