Sumsam is a small town at the border of
Doda District in
Jammu and Kashmir. It is set at an altitude of 10,616 ft above sea level and is about 32 km from Dharwas.
Sumsam is flanked by Matsel on its west and Bhuzas on the east, Abring on the north and Tai on the south. Visitors can undertake short treks and hikes to upland villages .
One can access Sumsam from Kishtwar and Doda as buses and private vehicles are easily available. The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi Railway Station, which is on the Jammu – Pathankot line.
