Ramayana, Sumitra was the third queen of king
Dasaratha, the first being
Kausalya and the second
Kaikeyi. Sumitra was very affectionate to Kausalya and always used to be present near her as much as possible. Sumitra was the mother of the twins,
Lakshman and
Shatrughna.
