Sullia




Sullia is a taluk in Dakshina Kannada District. It is bordered by Puttur in the north, Kodagu District in the east and south and Kerala in the west. It has a total area of 826 sq km. Sullia town is the taluk headquarters.

The topography of the region is marked by forest and rocky terrains. Kumaradhara and Payaswini are major rivers traversing the taluk. The trekking spots of Kumara Parvatha, Bisaleghat, Bantamale attracts a lot of adventure enthusiasts. Subramanya, a major pilgrim center situated 44 km from the city center is another point of attraction. The Subrahmanya temple here attracts large number of devotees every year. The temple is situated in between the Kumara Parvatha and Shesha Parvatha. This temple town is well connected by road. The annual car festival of the temple is held during the months November-December.
