Sugh is a small village about 5 km from to the east of Jagadhri in
Ambala District of
Haryana. The ruins proposed that it was a naturally formed fortified place in a triangular form with large number of projecting citadels on all the three angles. It put on the important routes of northern India which connects the upper
Punjab with the Gangetic valley via
Ambala, Saharanpur and
Meerut. Sugh has been recognized with Srughna by Cunningham.
In the 7th century the Chinese pilgrim Hieun Tsang visited here. Gold, silver, copper, and iron are the metals discovered. The town fell into decline after the 12th century AD.
