Established in 1998, St Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering is a Christian minority institution under the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kottar. Affiliated to the
Anna University, it offers four year under graduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering. The college has a well stocked library, hostels, canteen, labs, bank extension counter, and transport facility.
St Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering has an active placement cell, consultancy cell, career guidance cell, and language cell. It is situated at Chunkankadai which is about 8 km from Nagercoil on the way to Thiruvananthapuram.
