St Joseph's Social Welfare Center, situated in
Kanyakumari District, has been engaging in social welfare activities since 1983. Formed by Fr Joseph Swam, it runs an orphanage and an old age home. The old age home admits people who are completely neglected by their families. The home provides them food, shelter, clothes and medical care. The orphanage takes care of poor children. After schooling, they are given training in vocational training centers. Other services include awareness programs and financial aids.
