St Joseph's Cathedral is a major spiritual center of the Jacobite Syrian Christians located at Sastri Road in
Kottayam. Built in 1981, this church functions under the Kottayam diocese and this is the only church of the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Christians founded in the name of St Joseph. Every year, on January 26, the feast of St Joseph is celebrated here with much pomp and merriment. On this day, the foundation day of this church is also celebrated. Apart from this, the feast days of St Gregorios of Parumala, Catholicose Baselios Paulose II Bava, Mar Dionysius Michael Thirumeni and Mar Gregorios (Perumpilly Thirumeni) and St Ignatius are celebrated with religious importance.
Devotees can attend the Holy Qurbana on all Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays at 07 00 hrs. Different spiritual organizations are actively functioning here. The Cathedral complex houses a parish hall and a book stall.
