Sri Thiruvambadi Temple is a temple composite located at Elambachi in
Trikarpur of
Kasargod District. The existence of the three deities is a distinguishing feature of this complex. Here, the deities
Krishna,
Shiva and
Shasta are given equal importance.
Sree Krishna temple is situated at the entrance of the complex. Shasta temple, which dates back 1000 years, is to the north-east of the Krishna temple. Shiva Temple is situated behind the Shasta temple. Large numbers of devotees come here to pray for peace of mind, for the care of chronic illness, and for the fulfillment of all their desires and ambitions.
Ayyappa Mandir, behind the Sree Krishna temple, provides accommodation for saints, devotees and priests. It has a big hall, special room, kitchen, bathroom and toilets. The hall is used for dance and music classes.
The main festival of the temple is held in the Malayalam month of Meenam (March-April). Thidambu Nritham, the divine dance, is a major draw.
Trikarpur Railway Station, on the Kozhikode-Mangalore line, is the nearest railhead.
