Sri Sathurbuja Anjaneyar Temple

Sri Anjaneya Temple is located at Ananthamangalam, near Mayiladuthurai. Legends tell us that when the war between Ram and Ravana was over, two rakshasas were left alive in Lanka and they wanted to take revenge upon Sri Rama. With a view to achieve this they took severe penance under the sea. Hanuman killed the demons at the instance of Ram. The temple is dedicated to Hanuman who accomplished this task. The temple deity is Veera Anjaneya with three eyes and ten hands. Pournami (full moon day) is very special here.
