Sri Rajagopala Temple is located at
Manimangalam. It is an ancient temple with
Lord Vishnu as the presiding deity.
The Lord is seen in a standing posture, facing east, with his consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi. The deity holds the conch in his right hand and the
Sudarsana Chakra in his left hand. His lower right hand is in the Abhaya Hasta pose (pose of showering blessings by indication in hand) and he also holds the mace in his lower left hand.
A separate shrine for Senkamalavalli Thayar is found in the complex. A small carving of Yoga Narasimha is seen on the top of the outer wall of the sanctum sanctorum. Thirumanjanams (fragrant powder prepared out of sandalwood and turmeric) are performed for this Yoga Narasimha. There is a Garuda vahanam (decorated vehicle/medium on which God and Goddess are taken in procession). Two pillars outside the temple have the carvings of snakes.
