Sri Padaleeswarar Temple is located at Thirupathiripuliyur in
Cuddalore District. This is a historical temple dating back to the 7th century. The presiding deity of the temple is Padaleeswarar. Legend tells us that Goddess Uma, after worshipping 1008 sacred places, reached here and installed the idol of
Lord Shiva under big padiri tree. The temple has 5 corridors, the fifth corridor being known as Raja Veedhi (Royal Street.)
The temple celebrates The annual Brahmotsavam for 13 days during the month of Vaikasi (May-June). Tamil New Year is also celebrated in a grand manner.
