Singri Koil is a tenth century shrine situated 25 km from
Vellore in
Tamil Nadu. This shrine is dedicated to Lakshmi Narasimha. Situated on a small hillock, is believed to have been built by a local chieftain by name Rajavarman. The six foot high idol is seen in a sitting posture. The consort of the lord,
Goddess Lakshmi, is seen on the right side of Narasimha. Separate shrines for Lord Anjaneya (Hanuman) and Sri Garuda are seen inside the temple. The main festivals celebrated by the temple are Narasimha Jayanthi, Vaikunda Ekadesi, Ratha Sapthami, Tamil and English New Year and Purattasi Saturdays.
Frequent buses are available from Vellore to Singri Koil. Chennai International Airport is the nearest airport.
