Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Navaneetha Krishnan Temple

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Navaneetha Krishnan Temple is located at Nanganallur, a suburb of Chennai, in Tamil Nadu. The temple has shrines dedicated Lord Lakshmi Narasimha, Navaneethakrishnan, Lord Ram, Srinivas, Lord Hanuman, Andal, Alwars and Acharyas, including Acharya Ramanuja and Sri Vedanta Desika.

The temple has a five tiered Rajagopuram, about 55 ft high and 30 ft wide. The seven Kalasams in rainbow colors is an eye catching one.

It is believed that there was an ancient temple at the place of the original shrine. Excavations in the site had discovered a bell, a plate and a lamp. A stone with inscriptions and five and a half feet high idol of Lord Vishnu conclude that the ancient temple was built in the eighth century during the Pallava rule.

The annual Narasimha Jayanthi celebrations attract thousands of devotees from far and near.
