Sri Kurumurthy Srinivasa Swamy Temple

Sri Kurumurthy Srinivas Swamy Temple lies on the hills of Kurupathi in Kurumurthy village of Mahabubnagar District. Built in 1350, the temple has the deity in self-manifested ( Swayambhu) form. Legend says that Sri Lakshmi Devi requested Lord Srinivasa to reside on the hills to facilitate his devotees to offer prayers. Kuru means to do, Matim means mind and pati means husband. And so the hill is called Kurupati.

Sri Kurumurthy Srinivasa Swamy Temple is 20 km from Gadwal and 90 km north of Kurnool.
