Sri Hariharasudha Temple




Sri Hariharasudha Temple is situated at Palarivattom Junction, on the western side of Palarivattom-Thammanam road. The present temple with chuttambalam was completed during April 1997.

The presiding deity is Lord Ayyappa. The idol is enshrined in the octagonal shaped sanctum sanctorum. Other deities in the temple are Lord Ganesh, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Parvati, Lord Subramanya, Lord Shiva and Nagayakshi.

The annual festival of the temple is held during the Malayalam month of Kumbham (February-March). The festivities are held for about ten days. Kodiyettu (flag hoisting ceremony) take place on the Avittam day as a prelude to the festival. On the tenth day of Kodiyettu is Arattu - bathing ceremony of the lord marking the end of the festival.

Palarivattom is a charming residential locale in Ernakulam, just 4 km away from Ernakulam Town Railway Station.
