Sri Hanuman Zatra is conducted in the month of February at
Panaji, the capital city of
Goa. It is celebrated on a hillock with a beautiful scenic view of the green surroundings, rivulets and salt-pans around. The idol of
Lord Hanuman is taken out in a palanquin procession which winds its way through the main thoroughfare of the town, attended with offerings given by people of both the communities, Hindu and Christian, traditionally. A big fare is also held on the occasion.
