Sri Aurobindo Parichay Gallery is located at
Regent Park in
Kolkata, the capital city of
West Bengal. It is a tribute to Sri Aurobindo, a revolutionary poet and spiritual teacher, on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary by the Sri Aurobindo Institute. The gallery uses lighting effects and recorded sound to give a dramatic narrative of his life.
The objective of the gallery is the exhibition of his work in Bengal in the first decade of the 20th century. The gallery is also a museum for all those who loves history and wishes to know more about the Indian freedom struggle.
Authentic arms and ammunition are replicated here. The cell in Presidency Jail and Alipore Courtroom are recreated in a rare historical account, which takes one back to the days of intense nationalism, gallantry and sacrifice for the Motherland.
