Sree Veeraraghava Temple




Sree Veeraraghava Temple at Tiruvallur is an ancient Vaishnava temple, built during the time of the Pallavas. Here the main deity is called Evvulkidandhan (also known as Perumal and Vaidhya Veeraraghavar) and the goddess's name is Kanakavalli. The deity is in a sleeping posture. The devotees offer palli thuppatti (clothes) and small human figures in silver or gold to the Lord. There is a sacred pond and the devotees believe that bathing in this pond relieves one of all diseases. Brahmotsavam, Pavithra Utsavam, and Chithirai Brahmotsavam are the main festivals celebrated.
