Tiruvallur is an ancient
Vaishnava temple, built during the time of the
Pallavas. Here the main deity is called Evvulkidandhan (also known as Perumal and Vaidhya Veeraraghavar) and the goddess's name is Kanakavalli. The deity is in a sleeping posture. The devotees offer palli thuppatti (clothes) and small human figures in silver or gold to the Lord.
