Sree Kali Shekthra Muthappan Kavu

Sree Kali Shekthra Muthappan Kavu is a highly revered shrine situated at Vellayoor in Malappuram District. The temple is dedicated to Lord Muthappan. The main offerings are thulabharam, pushpanjali, abhishekam and naivedyam. Odakali Amma, Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesh, Chathan, Nagakaly and Lord Hanuman are other deities worshipped here.

The annual festival, Muthappan Utsavam falls in the month of Vrischikam (November-December). Vailassery Pooram and Aswathy Prathishtadina Mahotsavam held here attract thousands of devotees from far and near.

The temple can be accessed by local buses and taxies from Malappuram. Tirur Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
