Established in 1998, the Sourashtra College for Women offers UG courses in Arts, Science and professional disciplines such as Computer Science and IT. Its main objective is to provide quality education to the economically poor students of the Sourashtra community and others and to see that education reaches to women of the down-trodden families. Apart from regular courses, it is the only institution in
Madurai offering a special graduate course in Nutrition and Dietetics (B.Sc.). Other facilities in the campus include a well stoked library, state-of-the-art gym and well equipped laboratories.
