Soundaryanayaki Temple is a beautiful shrine, located at Pullavaneswaram, in
Thanjavur District,
Tamil Nadu. The presiding deity here is Goddess Soundaryanayaki.
The temple is renowned for its exquisite carvings and sculptural work in the gopuram. On the southern side of the temple, there is a beautiful stone construction similar to Lord Indra’s chariot with wheels and spokes. The idol of Sambavati Amman can be seen in a small portion on the right side of the entrance to Lord Shiva’s shrine.
There are also shrines dedicated to Maruthavanar (son of Pattinatar), Chendanar, Ghoshambikai, Chandrasekhara, Shiva Sarma (the priest), Susilai (the wife of the priest), Shivakalai (wife of Pattinathar's), Nayadiyar (Pattinathar's disciple) and Bhadragiri Raja.
The nearest railway station is at Shiyali. Buses are available from Tiruvengadu, about 3 km away.
