Sorsan Grasslands




Situated about 45 km east of Kota, Sorsan Grasslands is a tourist place in Kota District of Rajasthan. This treeless area of deciduous bushes extends over 35 square kilometer. The place is of interest especially for bird watchers. The grassland is surrounded by the main canals of Chambal and Paravan Rivers. During monsoon season, the grasslands teem with insects and become a heaven for domestic and migratory birds. The main attraction of the place is the rare species of Great Indian Bustard, also known as Godawan. One can also watch water birds.
