Somnath Mahadev Fair




Somnath Mahadev Fair is a major fair celebrated at the Somnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. It is situated in Junagadh District of Gujarat. The fair falls on the full moon day of Kartik Poornima in the month of Kartik (October-November). The fair is celebrated to celebrate the birth of Kartikeya (Lord Muruga), son of Lord Shiva. The celebration includes stage shows, folk dances and instrumental music in the spectacular setting of Somnath Temple. Thousands of devotees from far and near throng here to attend the fair.
