Located in Aligarh District, Somna is on the main highway connecting Aligarh and Bulandshahr. It is about 7 km south-east of Chandaus, 9 km from Rait, 15 km from Khair and 25 km north of Aligarh.
Tappal, with a few ancient monuments, is a historically important town in Khair taluk, accessible from here. One can also visit Aligarh, the town best known today for the Aligarh Muslim University.
Somna is well linked by road. Somna Railway Station is on the main Delhi-Kolkata railway line. Agra Civil Enclaves is about 100 km from here.
