Someshwar Shiva Mandir

Someshwar Shiva Mandir is one of the major attractions of Lauria Areraj, 28 km south-west of Motihari, in East Champaran District. This ancient temple enshrines Lord Shiva as the presiding deity.

Shrawani Mela, held here during the months of July and August, draws thousands of pilgrims from in and around the country.

Nearest airport is at Patna, approximately 145 km south-east.

Motihari Railway Station, on the Muzaffarpur-Bettiah line, is the nearest major railhead.
