Skandhanaatha Swamy Temple




Skandhanaatha Swamy Temple is located at Eragaram in Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District. This ancient temple is said to have been built in the year 200. Sculptural remains from the 12th century have been found from the temple. The inscriptions made during the [122728}Chola period are also found here. The sanctum, built of bricks has one prakaram and a teertham. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva. The main festivals celebrated are Aadi Pooram, Navratri, Skandha Shashti, and the Annual Laksharchana. Fridays are special days here. The temple is at a distance of 6 km from Kumbakonam which is well connected by road and rail.
