Sivananda Saraswathi Sevashram




Sivananda Saraswati Sevashram is a humanitarian organization which protects orphans, destitute women, the physically handicapped, AIDS-affected children and the elderly. Established in 1945 by an elderly couple, Shri S V Iyer and Dr V Mangalam, it offers food, education and shelter to orphans to make them independent. It is popularly known as Sivananda gurukulam. Dormitories and cottages are offered in its old age home. Quality food is served. Sevashram has primary and high schools for its inmates and rural children. There are a maternity home, a vocational training center, a tailoring training center and a center for typewriting under the organization.
