Sirhind Canal




Sirhind Canal in Punjab, serves the Patiala and Ludhiana districts. It was opened in 1872 from Sutlej River. The canal irrigates an area of about 2000 square km. Major tourist destinations on the banks of the canal are Rupnagar, Pandher and Hathur. Gurdwaras such as Degsar Sahib, Chamkaur Sahib and Sahib Patshahi Nauvin are situated along the banks and branches of Sirhind Canal.
