Siranda is an instrument of classic nature, used by the Sikhs. It forms an important part of the Sikh devotional music. It was the favorite instrument of Guru Arjan Dev. This instrument originated in Central Asia.
Siranda is a bow and string instrument. Its front side has a covering of animal hide. It contains open sound holes in the front. Its back is shaped in the form of an egg. This instrument produces a low pitch sound.
